Monday.com is a project management tool that enables organizations to manage tasks, projects, and teamwork. Over the last 11 years, Monday.com has become one of the fastest-growing products in the space.
Content marketing is notoriously hard to organize as it often involves many stakeholders and multiple steps from ideation to copywriting, to creatives, and then finally through approval workflow and publication. Project management tools like Monday.com can add some real efficiency to the process.
Tools like Monday.com represent a significant advantage over a typical spreadsheet (which is still a popular choice for content plans) but, in terms of task management, team collaboration, and visibility, there is still a big gap. Project management tools require manual administration to update, and there is no closed-loop to signify activity is completed, or to summarize the results.
Monday.com is perfect for high-level content planning and task management, but when it comes to the specifics of your content, another tool is needed to extend Monday.com's offering.
This screenshot shows a good example:
This is a marketing plan, with top-level campaign tasks to be completed. Ideal for tracking the status of a particular activity and giving some visibility over its progress.
However, when it comes to ‘channel specific’ tasks like ‘email campaigns’ or ‘social campaigns’, you might not want to create the actual content within Monday.com - there are better tools for that.
This is where ContentCal comes in.
Once you have created a high-level content plan in Monday.com, you can use a better-suited tool to execute the work. So, using the example above, you can send the details of your email and social media tasks to ContentCal.
To do this, you'll need to use Zapier to link Monday.com and ContentCal.
This video walks you through how to set this up:
With high-level plans visible in Monday.com and the associated progress of the tasks tracked, you can send the details of content-specific tasks to ContentCal and manage thr execution of these tasks in a tool that is purpose built for content creation.
Once the details of the task from Monday.com have been sent to ContentCal, the content creators can pick up this content, collaborate with the team on the development of the copy, gain approval, automatically schedule and publish social media content and analyze its results. This ensures you have a coordinated and structured content marketing process, from the initial plan all the way through to publication and tracking.
