Content that is available for just a short space of time such as snapchats or Insta-stories is set to become even more coveted in 2018. With a lack of permanence adding urgency to the existing content, participating in temporary content is one irresistible way to reel in your audience.

Instagram is the place to be

With 80% of Instagram accounts following at least one business, and the amount of brands on Instagram rising year on year, businesses better get photogenic if they’re hoping to take their social media marketing to the next level. With the introduction of story highlights and the ability to follow hashtags, we’re wondering what else Instagram’s got tucked up their sleeves.

Head to Youtube for leads

As the prices for Facebook ads increase, business could (and probably should) be heading over to Youtube for lead generation. As the go-to platform for problem-fixing, advertising on Youtube could present the target market with just the solution they were literally searching for.

CEO’s meet social

2018 is seeing brands become more human and approachable with CEO’s making their way online to raise brand awareness and share content from behind the scenes. Adding an element of personality to businesses will work wonders for making brands appear more approachable, trustworthy, and lead to increased brand loyalty.

This one doesn’t take a genius to spot, but video content is hella popular. If a picture says a thousand words, just imagine how much a video tells you. With visual material constantly on the rise, if you’re not planning on including video in your content marketing strategy for 2018 then good luck with that.

Snapchat to snap back

2017 saw Instagram steal the limelight when it came to visual sharing, but could 2018 see Snapchat emerge refreshed, renewed, and ready to do battle with Instagram? With whispers about a new interface, and the possibility of Snapchat moving outside of the app, we’re thinking the answer is ‘yes’.

LinkedIn gets ‘cool’

You might have noticed that LinkedIn just got video and let’s just say it gave us a bit of a heart-attack. But word on the street is we’re in for more heart palpitations in 2018 as LinkedIn is rumoured to be getting emojis, stickers, polls, and GIFs.
